Desk Top Hard Drive

I take a lot of pictures. I aim to take at least a dozen a day to document my life with five children and two hairless dog.  With bigger file size comes the need to external drive that will reliably keep my pictures safe and ready for retrieval at a moments notice.  I played with many hard drive, some of which seem to have stopped working after standing in place for two years or more. The way I see it, if the movie industry and musicians trust a hard drive to keep up with their high demand of file storage, then I can reasonably trust it with my needs.  While my pictures is not exactly the same as edited file in progress of the movie industry, it is my picture.  I want them safe and stored for perpetuity.
