Darkness Dawns by Dianne Duval

A freshly refreshing look at vampires and immortals
Definitely worth the read!
Sarah Bingham and RolandWarbrook is the new paranormal Elizabeth and Darcy.  It is like Pride and Prejudice with lots of ass kicking.  The plot twist are wonderful and fresh.  I like a creative book.  This one does it in spades. I will definitely read the rest of the series.

This story was a fun one to listen to. I got my copy from my library through an overdrive app.  There is a new race of blood-sucking beings. They are called the Immortal Guardians.  They are the gifted humans, those with sixths sense, who are transformed by a symbiotic virus that enhanced their gifts.  They can also be strong and fast.

The vampires, on the other hand, is nothing like Twilight's vamps.  These are ordinary human infected with the same symbiotic virus. Because they are ordinary, the virus helps these vampires descend into madness.

The Immortal Guardians are environmentally conscious. They ate organic, and incredibly lusty! If you want action, adventure, romance, and incredibly hot sex, then this book is for you.  If you like paranormal, do not miss this one. It is such a treat!

I would give this five stars, but the only hiccup for me was Sarah not noticing that Roland was not an ordinary human.  I did not like her "surprise" at finding out he was more. Duh!  Can she not see that he heals incredibly fast? I mean, he's bullet ridden one minute and in less than a day, was up and fighting the baddies?  So, except for that, this book is one long adventure.

If you like Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward, Larrisa Ione, and the likes...then go and grab your copy of this one.
